The objective of Online Learning for Professional Development was to acknowledge learners of genuine sites that offer accredited learning programs. Due to the pandemic situation, there has been a sudden rise in the use of online learning sites. Many institutes have come up with learning programs and many of them are not professionally accepted. On the other hand, people are not aware that there are well recognized online courses offered by institutes like Harvard, especially for professional development. We wanted to attest to the validity of those sites by ourselves before recommending them to anyone. So as the first step we ourselves enrolled for a few courses from each site that offered seemingly genuine courses. Then we started our learning for a trial period and researched more in detail of the variety of courses they offer and their reviews
After that, we finalized 10 genuine sites that offer excellent courses, especially for professional development. Some of those sites offered Graduate and Masters’ programs as well (Edx, Harvard, Stanford Online). Finally, we began social media post creation and the PR phase of the project. Initially, we addressed online learning myths and then used the sites we found, in breaking those myths while acknowledging the audience of the courses they offer. We received good responses as this was very helpful for people who wanted to invest their time and money in education during the quarantine period.
