Joint meetings are always fun and memorable. The Rotaract Club of Excellence successfully organized the first joint meeting for the year with RAC Colombo Uptown and with the first Rotaract Club in Sri Lanka; Yes, Rotaract Club of Colombo. The intention of the meeting was to help the members of the Club to get to know fellow Rotaractors and build fellowship. It was on a Tuesday evening right after work/ classes and still the members were not tired but excited to meet other Rotaractors. The 3 club banners were put up, the presentation slides displayed onto the screen, everyone were on their respective seats, and Rtr. Ammar Adnan, the sergeant at arms for the day called the house to order to officially start the joint meeting.
Rtr. Dushan Romero from the Rotaract Club of Colombo started the proceedings for the day by welcoming everyone present for the meeting. He then shared details of the completed and upcoming projects of the Club followed by Rtr. Meghara Wijemanne from Colombo Uptown and Rtr. Saalim Ahamed from Rotaract Club of Excellence. Then an Ice breaker session was held to get to know each other and the participants were divided into 4 teams to complete the games which were planned out for the day.
The first activity was to form the team name using the first letter of their calling names and we indeed got some creative names. Next, the teams had to build the tallest tower using marshmallows and BBQ sticks and were given a maximum time period of 10 minutes followed by a series of charades on movie names. The winning team was selected based on the points given in each activity and how well they had performed in it. It was indeed a fun-filled evening with creating a number of memories to cherish.
Service through fellowship!
