Installation Ceremony of Rotaract Club of Excellence

The 6th Installation Ceremony for the Rotaract Club of Excellence was successfully held on the 20th of August at the Royal College, Union Skills Center. This event marks the induction of the 6th President Rtr. Saalim Ahamed and his board of directors meanwhile due recognition was given to our IPP Rtr. Sharker Shajahan and his team as well. The event was graced by Rtn. PHF President Ruwan Gunasena, from the Rotary Club of Colombo Metropolitan. Distinguished individuals from the Rotaract and Rotary district also graced us with their presence.

Rtr. PP Nishadhi Daluwatta and Rtr Sanuvi Mudannayake were the hosts for the evening. The event began with the lighting of the oil lamp followed by the Rotaract formalities delivered by Rtr. Ashwini Ratnayake and the welcome address was given by the Project Chairperson Rtr. Shamil Irshad.

Then, the Secretary’s report was shared by Rtr. Saalim Ahamed which showcased last years’ memories. Rtr. Sharker Shajahan took the stage one last time as the President to address the gathering and reminisced on the successful year that has ended.

Later came the highlight of the evening which was the introduction of our 6th President Saalim Ahamed where the collars and gavel were exchanged followed by his speech where he highlighted his theme “Lead to Inspire”.

Later our Chief Guest shared his words of wisdom where he stressed the virtues of discipline. This was followed by speeches from other dignitaries as well. Towards the end of the evening, our special guests were recognized by gifting them tokens of appreciation, and the vote of thanks was delivered by our secretary Rtr. Dulasi Perera.

This marked the end of a successful evening and hopefully the start of another successful year for the Excellence family under the leadership of Rtr. Saalim Ahamed.
