7th Installation Ceremony

The Rotaract Club of Excellence has always been at the forefront of service, contributing to the community through a variety of service initiatives. Over the many years of its existence, it has produced some of the most passionate and dedicated members the movement has ever seen. The skills, knowledge, and experience that members of the Rotaract Club of Excellence have in a variety of areas are enthralling.

The 7th Installation Ceremony for the Rotaract Club of Excellence was successfully held fully virtually for the first time on the 12th of September 2021 at 11 a.m.This event was streamed live on Facebook and marked the induction of the 7th President, Rtr. Dulasi Perera, and her board of directors. Meanwhile, due recognition was given to our IPP, Rtr. Saalim Sathar, and his team as well. The event was graced by Rtn. PHF President Gerald De Saram of the Rotary Club of Colombo Metropolitan officiated at the event. Distinguished Rotaract and Rotary district members also graced us with their presence.

Rtr Sanuvi Mudannayake moderated the event. The initial proceedings began with a call to order, followed by Rtr. Priyandan Francis delivering the Rotaract formalities, followed by Rtr. Nisini Nuhara, Project Chairperson, delivered the welcome address.

Rtr. Dulasi Perera then shared the Secretary’s report, which highlighted last year’s memories. Saalim Sathar took the stage for the final time as President to reflect on the past year’s accomplishments.

In his farewell speech, he stated that completing over 40 projects in a year most impacted by COVID is a great accomplishment in and of itself and that this would not have been possible without the support of the General Members who inspired him with their ideas and actions.

Last year’s theme was “Change to Grow, Change to Uplift.” Rotaractors are community leaders who want to improve their skills to give back to their community. As a result, it is important to lead by example for others to follow because many people need assistance, and our actions can help them grow into great people.

This was followed by speeches from other dignitaries, as well as an entertainment act by Rtr Nisini Nuhara and Rtr Navoda Jayasinghe, who joined in to grace the event from Australia.Prior to the introduction board video for the year 2021/22 began.

Our special guests were recognized at the latter stages of the evening by receiving tokens of appreciation. Finally, our newly appointed secretary, Rtr. Hanugeerthy Mahendran delivered her vote of thanks on behalf of the club.

This marked the end of a successful morning and the start of a new year for the Excellence family, led by Rtr. Dulasi Perera.
